My proudest moment. :D
My proudest moment of middle school was when I got voted captain for cheerleading in the winter season. I felt like such a leader and I was just proud of myself. Out of all the times I was on the cheerleading team, my last season, I was finally voted one of the captains. I did both seasons through out 6th, 7th, and my 8th grade year. I was so happy and it was what I wanted. I will always remember the day that all of the cheerleaders were voting for captains and Coach Herd came out with the votes and she announced Christina, Taylor and I for cheerleading captain. I was so proud of myself for being such a leader.
Middle School Memorieees. (:
I remember so many memories through out my 6th, 7th, and my 8th grade year. Ive had so many times to remember for a while. I remember all my bestfriends I’ve had through out my years at this school. I remember alot of bad days and bad times here at Mariner. There were also alot of good days and happy times I’ve had. I think that from the beginning of 6th grade to the end of 8th grade, I have really matured through out these 3 years. I had the best times cheerleading for Mariner and going to the basketball and baseball games. I’m sure high school will bring me much more memories, but I know I won’t forget those 3 wonderful years here at Mariner.

The Wanderer.
By: Sharon Creech.
A thirteen year old girl named Sophie was the only girl in the crew of The Wanderer. This crew was made up of 3 of her uncles and two of her cousins. They sailed across the Atlantic Ocean torwards England, where her grandfather, Bompie, was. The sea called out to Sophie. The sea promised her adventure and the chance to explore and discover anything she wanted.
The personal journey she took brought her deep into a unknown past that she never knew she could travel to. Sophie’s thirteen-year-old cousin Cody was not even sure why his father brought him on the journey. Everyone, even his dad, thinks Cody is a stupid boy that can’t do anything right. But, besides all of the goofing off, he wonders if he has enough strength to prove himself to the whole crew and to his father.
Through Sophie’s and Cody’s travel logs, the amazing experiences of the six wanderers and their journey unfold. Stories of the past and the challenges they faced at sea came together torwards it’s destination, and the passengers searched for their places in the world.
Sophie’s struggle to find out who she is inspires the same exploration from those around her. Her confidence shows many people how they should change their actions.
I would recommend this book to others. It’s a good book and I liked it alot. It was a very interesting book and the author did a wonderful job at writing it.
Sleeping in the forest (:
I thought the earth remembered me,
she took me back so tenderly,
arranging her dark skirts, her pockets
full of lichens and seeds.
I slept as never before, a stone on the river bed,
nothing between me and the white fire of the stars
but my thoughts, and they floated light as moths
among the branches of the perfect trees.
All night I heard the small kingdoms
breathing around me, the insects,
and the birds who do their work in the darkness.
All night I rose and fell, as if in water,
grappling with a luminous doom. By morning
I had vanished at least a dozen times
into something better.
Touched by an angel; Maya Angelou.
We, unaccustomed to courage
exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.
Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our souls.
We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love’s light
we dare be brave
And suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
and will ever be.
Yet it is only love
which sets us free.
Reflection..
I think this poem is about love. && What the author’s point of view about love is.
Women Work-Maya Angelou.
I’ve got the children to tend
The clothes to mend
The floor to mop
The food to shop
Then the chicken to fry
The baby to dry
I got company to feed
The garden to weed
I’ve got shirts to press
The tots to dress
The can to be cut
I gotta clean up this hut
Then see about the sick
And the cotton to pick.
Shine on me, sunshine
Rain on me, rain
Fall softly, dewdrops
And cool my brow again.
Storm, blow me from here
With your fiercest wind
Let me float across the sky
‘Til I can rest again.
Fall gently, snowflakes
Cover me with white
Cold icy kisses and
Let me rest tonight.
Sun, rain, curving sky
Mountain, oceans, leaf and stone
Star shine, moon glow
You’re all that I can call my own.
Reflection..
I think this poem is all about what women do mainly and and they’re expected to do without another men’s help. This poem talks about how women keep themselves occupied at home doing “woman work” while their husbands are at work doing their own job.

Book Review (:
What My Mother Doesn’t Know by Sonya Sones, is one of my favorite books. It is one of the funniest and dramatic books I have ever read. I couldn’t put the book down I just kept reading it and reading it. It carries on many different stories about different events in her life, It isn’t very detailed when it comes to explaining what happened, it just sort of seems to go on to another subject.
In the book What My Mother Doesn’t Know, Sophie a 14-15 year old girl lives life with many guy troubles, she always seems to know when something with a guy will go wrong, like when it says, “Sometimes I just know things, like when Lou asked me to go on that walk down by the reservoir last year on the day of eighth grade. I knew he was going to say he wanted to break up with me. In the book it doesn’t state where Sophie lives, but most of where the story takes place is at her house.
I think that the plot of What My Mother Doesn’t Know has many events, like when she first met Dylan, her very romantic boyfriend for only a while, and another event is when Sophie and this not very popular boy named Murphy get very close, and she sees the good sight of him. Other than that, there aren’t any other important events and nothing else really happens.
I would deffinatly give this book a 9 out of 10 because some parts of it I didn’t really like. Like the fact that some of the stuff in the book is kind of gross, I wont get into details about that, but if I were to make any suggestions about this book, I would want it to have more details about things, because it seems like all the parts of the story get cut off. I also think that it should have more of a plot, there is nothing really happening, all it is, is guy problems, and guy stories, nothing really worth getting into.
All in all I would say that this book would be a good book for anyone in there teen years to read, because it is kind of a story that has some inappropriate things in it, that younger kids shouldn’t read, but I also think that some kids in there teen years could relate to all of the guy things in this book. I am deffiantly looking forward to reading this book again.
